Smith Street Taps

Smith Street Taps
Smith Street Taps

The first in a wave of craft beer tap rooms to debut locally this year, Smith Street Taps kicks things off in a casual way with their pop-up kopitiam space in Chinatown Complex. Its proximity to The Good Beer Company is more than just mere coincidence – Smith Street Taps is a collaboration between Good Beer proprietor Daniel Goh and Meng Chao of Clementi bottle shop Brewers’ Craft.

The bare-bones stall can dispense up to five fresh brews at any given time. While creatures of habit will find comfort in the more commercial offerings like Sapporo and wheaty Weihenstephaner on tap, the thirsty craft beer fan will appreciate the roster of rarer, more experimental pours with the likes of Brewdog’s MashTag and Libertine Black, as well as Anderson Valley’s Bourbon Barrel Stout that will arrive in limited quantity this month. Goh and Meng have also promised that the draught pours will be priced cheaper than the bottled variety, with prices ranging from $6 to $13 a pint, so there’s even more reason to drink fresh.
