Lin Da Ma Lei Cha

Lin Da Ma Lei Cha

For days where you want to eat healthy, lei cha is a solid choice. This traditional Hakka dish is a version of gruel with a tea-based soup or broth. Lin Da Ma at Amoy Street Food Centre sells a version (from $4.50) that’s fragrant, nutty, savoury, and unexpectedly tasty given its garish, bright green appearance. There’s even the option of switching white rice for brown rice, or even opting for soba noodles. For meat lovers, there’s also the choice to add on non-vegetarian sides like meatballs and tofu with minced pork patties. Pro tip: add some fresh chilli padi in the mix to elevate the flavours.
