You can now chomp on a pulled pork pie ($16) without guilt and for a good cause. At Crossings Cafe, the restaurant profits goes to charity. As a Catholic-funded social enterprise, they also take in youths from Assumption Pathway School – who offers vocational training to those who failed their PSLE – as interns and hire them later. It’s hard to miss the strong patriotic flavours at Crossings with its novel offerings like chilli crab pasta ($16), baked black pepper chicken rice ($14) and chendol panna cotta ($5). Join Catholic Father Paul Staes on some Fridays from 6.30pm onwards. He serves monk-made beers and his specialty cocktail, Manhattan, and rice pudding.
