In the mood to try something new this weekend? Head down to Overbrod, a Scandinavian-inspired café located in the revamped wing of Anchorpoint Shopping Centre. Helmed by owner Gordan Tan, the establishment offers a great selection of hot and cold open-faced smorrebord or open-faced sandwiches that boast great textures and flavours. A notable highlight is the toast skagen (shrimps) ($18), featuring sweet shellfish that is tossed in mentaiko mayonnaise, resulting in complex yet clean flavours. Another popular favourite is the gravadlax (cured salmon) ($19), comprising salmon that is marinated in soy sauce for added umami. End off your meal with a sweet treat like the cinnamon knots ($6), which is soft, moist, fluffy and slightly chewy all at once.
