The fashion thrifting movement has really kicked off in Singapore over the past few years, and people are now shopping for clothes differently. While our plethora of malls continue to offer the usual trusty line-up of big chain brands, a growing pool of style seekers favours the thrill of scoring pre-loved gems that you’d be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Not only is it easier on the wallet, it’s also a more sustainable way of giving your wardrobe a refresh. We’ve dug through the racks ourselves, and here are some of our favourite thrift stores in Singapore.

1. Honsieponsie

Best for: A hodgepodge of everything including plus-sized items

You might already recognise Honsie Ponsie’s ‘poster girl’ from your social media feed – that would be Mama Hon, the real-life mum of store owner Hon, whom regulars have come to know and love for her friendly, cheerful demeanor. Two outlets run by the mother-son duo can be found on the same floor of Queensway Shopping Centre: The new bargain store at #03-32 has unbelievably affordable gems at just $2, $5, and $10, while the select store at #03-06A has a more curated line-up of champion hoodies, denim, knit vests, and unique embroidered shirts.

Best for: Streetwear essentials like varsity jackets and sports team jerseys

Although Woofie’s Warehouse at Haji Lane will be closing by the end of 2026, its other outlet at Golden Landmark – also near Bugis MRT station – will continue operations as per usual. Things are run quite differently there: Other than everything being priced at a flat $10 rate, introverts will be relieved to know that this thrift store is completely self-service, which means you can shop pressure-free without any staff fussing over you, and make purchases via PayNow. Honesty is the best policy – CCTV runs 24/7.

Best for: Curated vintage treasures

Leather jackets from Australia, feminine J-fashion brands like Cecil McBee and Axes Femme, and vintage men’s embroidered vests – Takara House’s picks are all personally sourced from abroad by its Gen Z owners. But this nook in a Haji Lane shophouse isn’t just for clothes. Trawl the shelves for nostalgic Happy Meal toys, fine teaware, Peko-chan paraphernalia, and Pokemon cards going at a steal – you’ll never know what you’ll discover with each visit. Make sure to try the freshly baked cakes and tarts from its in-house café too.

Best for: A well-rounded outing with friends

Nearestten has three stores all in Chinatown, but if you only visit one, let it be the newest three-storey outlet at 32A Pagoda Street. The first level carries only items that are branded or vintage, with prices in denominations of 10 and nothing above $50. Head up to level two for six photobooths with quirky set-ups resembling wet market stalls and mahjong gatherings – the perfect way to capture snaps of your new ‘fit. Right above that is a rooftop café serving matcha and ice cream. Consider your next hangout settled.

Japan’s largest thrift store chain has landed on our shores, so go get that bag: pre-loved Dior, Chanel, Hermès, and Louis Vuitton pieces going at double-digit prices are lined up and ready for your choosing, all strictly screened for authenticity and condition beforehand. Other recognisable brands here we’ve spotted include the likes of Comme des Garcon, A Bathing Ape, Acne Studios, Maison Margiela and Converse.

Best for: Couples who want to shop together

Swaggy camo pants and hoodies for the guys, cute casuals and handbags for the gals – Weare is the place to be for ‘his and hers’ outfit matching, with a well-balanced selection catering to both genders. Specialising in streetwear and vintage clothing, this highly raved thrift store at Queensway also has its own photo booth. For just $6 a pop, you get print-outs in a black-and-white vintage style, or a faded digicam effect. Talk about a major throwback.

Best for: Harajuku fashion, including lolita-style dresses and rock chick essentials

Don’t let its location in the rundown Orchard Plaza fool you; Decked in hot pink and black, Fairies Aisle looks like an early 2000s, alternative teenage girl’s dream room. Run by a pair of sisters, the store stocks popular Japanese brands like Liz Lisa and Axes Femme, studded belts, Sanrio bags, and grungy graphic tees, with racks restocked weekly. You can also pop on over to their sister store Digit Aisle in the same mall, where all items have single-digit pricing.

Best for: Trend-seeking ladies who love a matcha latte

By the fashion girlies, for the fashion girlies – Twoworlds clearly knows what’s on trend among its crowds, and it delivers. Halter tops and camisoles adorned with beads and frills dominate the racks, along with cutesy babydoll dresses, flowy boho silhouettes, and a handful of handbags and heels. And because shopping is hard work, reward yourself afterwards with a toffee nut latte (from $5.50) or strawberry matcha ($7) from the store’s own drink stand.

Best for: A varied mix for all age groups

Before Queensway Shopping Centre gained its reputation as a thrifter’s paradise, there was Lucky Plaza, and one of its OGs still standing strong today is Lucky Thrifty. Yes, it’s a little messy and squeezy, but that’s because it’s packed with everything under the sun. Trendy Y2K styles? Check. Prom dresses? Check. Something Mum would fancy? Check. Patiently rifle around and you’re bound to find something up your alley – especially since prices start from just $1.

There happens to be a whopping four outlets all within the same mall, so you can easily make a whole afternoon out of it.

Best for: Clothing swaps

A social enterprise that helps prolong the lifespan of branded and high-end apparel, bags, and footwear, The Fashion Pulpit operates mainly on a clothing swap model. Simply sign up for a membership (from $35) of your preferred commitment level ranging from one day to 12 months, haul your forgotten closet stash down, rack up points for every item traded in, and use those earnings to redeem whatever catches your eye in-store. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

Best for: Blogshop dresses and popular mass labels

Love, Bonito girlies, assemble. Refash is your go-to if you have a penchant for local blogshops, as well as international mass brands like Pomelo, Topshop, Zara, Forever 21, and other usual suspects. A whopping 14 branches exist across Singapore’s town area and heartlands at present, but shopping on the Refash website allows you to steal your favourite influencer’s style – through their pre-loved clothing – via the ‘shop by celebrity’ filter. Prices start from just $5.99.

Best for: Those who love borrowing from mum’s closet

Run by volunteers from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP), this charity thrift store collates donated items from Catholic churches across Singapore and picks the best ones to be sold at a bargain – with all proceeds going towards the needy. Many of the clothing items have a retro flair to them, and you might even come across intricate cheongsams (from $5) and Nyonya kebayas among the mix. Make sure you check out the branded rack too – we’ve seen bags from Celine and Miu Miu going for $300 to $400. Fashion aside, there are also household items like porcelain sets and kitchen electronics, as well plushies and toys for the kiddos.
